In 2009, Carleton-Willard established a sister organization, Carleton-Willard AT HOME, to serve those in surrounding communities who prefer to stay in their own homes as they age. AT HOME is now Carleton-Willard’s flagship outreach program, a way to bring some of the most important benefits of a retirement community to those living at home, and to do so in an affordable, high quality way.
Now serving six communities, AT HOME provides security and peace of mind, as well as the support and encouragement to stay independent, active and engaged in life. We help with the chores of everyday living, and we enable our members to continue living the kind of life they want to live. Here are some of the ways we have made a difference:
- One member is able to continue attending the orchestra concerts she has subscribed to for decades;
- Another member is able to rekindle a social life – he can bring his wife who has dementia to social events knowing she will be warmly welcomed;
- One member, who no longer drives, counts on the weekly trip to the drycleaners before date night with his friend; and
- Still another member looks forward to our Gourmet-To-Go delivery, happy that he can give his wife a lovely dinner even though she herself can no longer cook.
